Nicky now has sole
responsibility for the lyrics of the Manics as well as playing bass. Many
see Nicky now as the leader of the group since the disappearance of Richey.
Wire is not Nicky's real name, but Jones. Wire is a nick name given to him by
friends because of his wiry frame. Nicky loves music, sport (mainly golf)
writing and strangely, cleaning. At the 1997 Brit Awards he wore a t- shirt
stating, 'I LOVE HOOVERING' and admitted that it is a passion of his.
Along with Richey, Nicky was one of the Manics glam twins putting the glamour
image to the media, making comments to piss people off and wearing make up and
dresses. He was close to Richey and the disappearance must have been very
difficult on him. Since then he has toned down this image but still puts it on
for the live shows.
