The Manics played Move last night with a storming set. The set list is below.
The Manics have completed work on a promo video for the song 'Judge Y'r self'. The video is compiled from unseen, exclusive footage from Nicky Wire's personal archives and includes:
A official report on the Manics website states that the band are to release a two-cd collection of b-sides, fourteen cover versions and unreleased rarities on 14th July.
The compilation, entitled ‘Lipstick Traces (A Secret History Of The Manic Street Preachers)’ shows a glimpse into the Manics' history of b-sides including two previously unreleased tracks. 'Judge Y’rself' was recorded for the movie soundtrack Judge Dread but never saw a release and is the last song the Manics wrote as a four-piece. The band has recently remixed this with producer Dave Eringa. The other track is ‘4 Ever Delayed’, which we thought was going to be a single earlier in the year but it never happened. The other C.d contains 14 cover songs that the Manics have played over the years, but tracks 5 and 6 seem to be missing so we will have to wait to see what they will be.‘Lipstick Traces ’ will be available on two formats: a double CD, in which initial quantities will be packed with a six page digipack format, and a very limited triple vinyl with a furry sleeve. This will be available online only 3 weeks after the CD. More details will follow shortly. Below is the track listing.

James Dean Bradfield and Nicky Wire have talked about 'There By The Grace Of God':
James: With the title, and our name, I had to be careful not to write something too impassioned, too austere, and too po-faced. I wanted to try and make the song quite cold, almost detached, and not pseudo-religious. Nick said it reminded it him of 'Enjoy The Silence', which worked for me.
Nick: The key line is 'With grace we will suffer, with grace we will recover', so there's quite an optimistic sentiment to it: suffering can be overcome, which is quite an un-Manics sentiment i suppose. Also, are the remnants of religion any more laughable than the gods - drugs, popstars, footballers, even science - we believe in today?
James will be playing a special one off solo gig for 250 fans at the Old Bay Hotel in Gourock (near Glasgow) on October 9th.
'There By The Grace Of God' will be released on two CDs and a DVD. This is according to the official site.
